When we gather as God’s church on Sunday mornings, we hear the word of God preached, we receive the ministry of the Spirit as we use our gifts to fellowship with and serve one another, and we sing together, celebrating the character and worth of God through the Gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ. But why do we sing?
Colossians 3:16 instructs us to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
This is what the music ministry at LCC seeks to accomplish every Sunday. We want the truth of God’s Word to be the foundation upon which we live our lives for God's glory. Singing helps us remember who God is and what He has done for us through His Son. So we sing passionately, expressively, and loudly because we’ve received the free gift of amazing grace! And we do that each Sunday because we are God's church, diverse people lifting up one unified voice declaring with thankful hearts “Jesus Saves!”
